What a winter the DC metro region experienced!

On the outside roads have taken a beating, and on the inside your carpets have taken a toll as well.

Just think of all the winter’s worth of dirt, dander, body oil, germs and odor that has permeated deep into the fabrics of your carpets!

What’s worse is that the dirt and debris trapped in your carpets continue to toss up dust particles in the air with foot traffic. Ultimately, these dust particles are damaging to your indoor air quality, which doesn’t help those who suffer from allergies and asthma conditions.

Time for a thorough spring cleaning of your carpets

Think vacuuming everyday will improve the overall health of your carpets? Think again.

Vacuuming does not extract the dirt and debris that is trapped deep within your carpet fibers and padding.

What is needed is a deep cleaning of your carpets to extract all the dirt and debris, and improve the health and appearance of your carpets.

While there are a myriad of equipment and processes to use when deep cleaning your carpets, it is best to consult with a trained cleaning technician to determine the best method for your carpet needs.

At Mister Kleen we know a thing or two on proper care of your carpets! We recommend a restorative and preventative carpet maintenance program to help bring your carpets back to life.

Our method is a simple three tiered package to select from – light, medium, or deep cleaning of your carpets, and we use various processes, which can include:

Cylindrical Cleaning: A less aggressive process for short piled carpets using a cylindrical coil rotary brush designed to extract lint and debris.

Hot Water Extraction: A deep cleaning process in which high water pressure (hot water) is injected, and detergent to suspend soils is vacuumed (extracted) out immediately through a vacuum orifice as it’s being applied. Ultimately, hot water extraction is considered to be one of the best methods to rinse a carpet of its contaminants since countless gallons of water can be used during the cleaning process to flush a large amount of soil from the carpet.

Dry Cleaning: Also known as “very low moisture” (VLM) systems, as an absorbent (often a biodegradable compound) is evenly spread over carpets then brushed or scrubbed in. When using this method carpets can be cleaned during business hours as they dry quicker. Also, the dry cleaning and VLM system is less labor intensive and better for the environment as trips to the janitor’s closet to fill and dump water are no longer needed.

Don’t let your carpets keep dirt and debris trapped from our rough winter season. Seek a trained carpet cleaning technician who will assist you with recommending an appropriate restorative and preventative maintenance program. Your carpets, occupants, visitors, and overall health will thank you!
